About the artist

Mahalia is an emerging multimedia artist in lutruwita (Tasmania). She works mainly in ceramic and acrylic on canvas. Her work is heavily influenced by her connection to nature and an upbringing that allowed her to spend time in the outdoors. She believes that outdoor recreation, adventure or simply sitting in beautiful bushy places is vital for our wellbeing.

 

 Her philosophy that people are not separate from nature, and that no place is truly 'wild', seeps into her work.
